Hi, this is Kerry Santori, location manager for the Ryder GM account. Since Ryder serves GM in a number of locations with different roles, it is easy to see why there may be some misunderstanding about the work we do for GM at these locations. Thank you for allowing me to clarify some facts related to the information being discussed on this site.
Ryder served the GM DHAM Assembly Plant business until it was put out for bid in late 2009. Although Ryder competed to keep this business, the bid process resulted in GM’s decision to award the business to another provider, OTR/LINC. Ryder continued to run the business until December, 2009 and then new provider took over the account in the 1st quarter of 2010.
In reference to the Orion business, please be aware that GM has not begun the bid process for that work; therefore, Ryder does not yet know if it will be awarded the business.
